PRINCIPAL CAST: Lorna Brown (Gertrude); James Cooney (Horatio); Paapa Essiedu (Hamlet); Joseph Mydell (Polonius); Mimi Ndiweni (Ophelia); Clarence Smith (Claudius); Buom Tihngang (Laertes).
This production was a revival of the RSC's 2016 production with Paapa Essiedu reprising his role of Hamlet and Clarence Smith, Ewart James Walters and Kevin N. Golding returning to the cast to play their original roles; Romayne Andrews returned to play Rosencrantz. The production opened at the Lowry in Manchester on 26 January 2018, subsequently touring nationally and internationally to Plymouth, Hull, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northampton, and London's Hackney Empire until 31 March 2018. It also played at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. from 2 - 6 May 2018.
