Patrick Robinson was born in London and trained at LAMDA. He understudied Romeo in the 1986 RSC production of Romeo and Juliet. According to the show reports in the RSC archive, Robinson played the role of Romeo, covering Greg Hicks (who had by then taken over the role from Sean Bean) for 8 performances in July 1987. Other classical work includes Belville in the RSC's 2016 production of Aphra Behn's The Rover.
