Howard Charles trained at Drama Centre, where his roles whilst training included Orsino in Twelfth Night directed by James Kemp. He played Porthos in the BBC's 2014 adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's The Three Musketeers, a significant high-profile (and rare) example of integrated casting in British television drama.
