"So what of the opening play? Twelfth Night was chosen because it was felt to reflect the ethos of the Liverpool, its rich array of characters as well as the new mission statement of the theatre itself encapsulated in Feste's final lines: 'And we'll strive to please you every day'." ~ Jonathan Brown, Independent, 13 March 2014, in Theatre Record 2014, Issue 6
"If Natalie Dew's Olivia goes overboard on the Princess-Not-Too-Bright schtick she is balanced by Jodie McNee's Viola/Cesario who charts the tricky passage between bewilderment and concealed love (as well as gender) with some skill." ~ Neil Norman, Daily Express, 14 March 2014, in Theatre Record 2014, Issue 6
"The staging is broad and light, the theatre's old brickwork, pine floor and high ceiling calling to mind a grand barn for the scenes in Orsino's and later Olivia's houses. Potted orchids descend to add a bucolic touch....This production has some fine points, among them Natalie Dew's touching Olivia and a convincingly pathetic Malvolio (Nicholas Woodeson)." ~ Quentin Letts, Daily Mail, 14 March 2014, in Theatre Record 2014, Issue 6
