"The director, Charlotte Conquest, decides to transfer the setting from Messina to Seville; she will include flamenco dancing, women fanning themselves. The designer (Sara Perks) goes along with this and provides summery clothes, short sleeves. Beatrice will be taking a shower when she overhears that Benedick loves her, and then go scampering around the stage wearing only a towel. It must be good fun on warm and sunny evenings, but this being neither Sicily nor Spain but England, how certain can anyone be of the summer weather?...Vocal subtlety is fequently absent - almost inevitable in an open-air performance, but more so when the wind is in competition....Some of the doubling is astonishing (Guy Burgess's dashing Don Pedro and a prim Verges)." ~ Jeremy Kingston, "Wind, rain and Shakespeare", The Times, 20 June 2008
