This production was first staged at The Other Place, Stratford-upon-Avon on 1 September 1988. It played at the Almeida Theatre, London as part of the RSC Fringe Festival for a brief season in September 1989 after this 1988/89 Stratford company had transferred to the Barbican Centre, London. Patrick Robinson played Edmund during the production's run at the Almeida Theatre, London only.
