Days of Significance
Days of Significance was commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company for the Complete Works Festival as a response to Much Ado About Nothing. As Michael Billington wrote, "The RSC was founded on the principle that the classics should interact with contemporary drama, and Roy Williams, in this ambitious, if overloaded, 90-minute new play, takes this literally. He uses the plot of Much Ado About Nothing as a springboard to examine the naive, adolescent and often racist values that many of our young British soldiers have exported to Iraq." ~ Guardian, 18 January 2007
