Born to Jamaican parents, younger sister of Beverley Randall.  With  Bernadine Evaristo and Patricia Hilaire, all playwrights and actresses who trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama,  founded the Theatre of Black Women (TBW), a small scale touring company. The company defined themselves as 'Black Feminist' and their work often engaged in debates about the historical exclusion of black women from the women's movement.

Writer, theatre and television director and producer, including Desmonds for ITV.
