Marcia Mantack became involved in acting in 1987 when she joined B19, the Birmingham Drama Group for the unemployed. She trained at Arts Educational Schools in London, where roles while training included Lady Macbeth, the Widow in All's Well That Ends Well and Cornelia in The White Devil. She graduated in 1992 and her first professional engagement was in Deconstruction Theatre's production of Romeo and Juliet.
