Kurt Egyiawan trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2011. While training he played the title role in Richard III in a production directed by Richard Twyman as well as the lead in Oedipus (director: Patsy Rodenburg). He won the Spotlight Prize in 2011.

Prior to training at Guildhall, Egyiawan was a member of the National Youth Music Theatre. Egyiawan played Q's assistant in Sam Mendes's first James Bond movie, Skyfall, within a year after graduating from drama school.
