Gordon Case graduated from East 15 Acting School in 1975. He was a member of the artistic committee for the Black Theatre Co-operative for five years, where he also worked as an actor. He played Paul Robeson in Are You Now or Have You Ever Been, a play detailing the effects of the House Un-American Activities Committee and the Senator Joseph McCarthy era which spawned HUAC.
